This year the North Fulton Community Charities (NFCC) is celebrating 25 years of service. NFCC has come a long way from a small group of concerned citizens convened by Mary Drake to discuss forming a non-profit in 1982 to a full service Outreach Center on Elkins Road in 2008. The organization has expanded to over 60 faith partners from the original eight and has engaged scores of civic groups and friends from the business community. Through the years, NFCC has welcomed hundreds and hundreds of volunteers, donors and families in need.
With the support of local religious, business, civic groups and individuals, NFCC assists local families with rent, utilities, clothing, food, transportation, and other basic needs. Today, as families struggle with the downturn of the drought, escalating gas and food prices and the slowdown in the housing industry, demand for services is at an all time high.
Fruitful Alpharetta is proud to have them on board and looks forward to working together.

Introducing Fruitful Alpharetta
Heeding the call from our neighbors to the south, Sustainable Dunwoody, I introduce you to Fruitful Alpharetta. Fruitful Alpharetta is a volunteer-based community initiative to harvest fruit and nut trees around the city of Alpharetta before they go to waste.
What we will do
Fruitful Alpharetta will organize volunteers in the Alpharetta community to gather fruit before it falls. Half of the harvested fruit will go to the volunteers and the remaining half will be donated to local charities. We will register fruit & nut trees around the city, coordinate harvesting parties, and offer workshops in pruning & fruit preservation.
How you can help
Write me at info@sustainablealpharetta.com if you are interested in volunteering, have a fruit tree(s) you would like to include in the program, or have any suggestions.
